Help: Schwinn Identicifaction
First off I did search but this is a little different.
Now that thats out of the way I have been here for about a year I guess, just reading and learning though. I just picked up an older Schwinn off of ebay for really cheap (about $25) and surprisingly its in great shape! The only thing is neither the previous owner nor I know what model it is. So here are some pictures, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ohh and also any ideas as to where I can get some sealed bearing for the headtube, it had the loose ones in there when I got it. I didn't thing about it and took the fork off so I would rather not be faced with putting all of the balls back if thats an option.
Thanks in advance.

The headbadge indicates it was made on the 351 day of 79 or 89. Judging by the chrome tipped fork and rear end I would say it is a 79. The late in the year build date would mean made in 79 for the 1980 model year. Two bikes came in Black that year, Voyageur 11.8 and the Super Le Tour. Yours has an derailleur hanger and the Super Le Tour doesn't. So I am going to say you have a Voyageur 11.8.

My knowledge of new 1" threaded headsets is pretty limited, but Shimano makes a 105 and an Ultegra sealed headset that'll work. I'm sure there are other options as well.

Tange Levin will work, and is available. Do a Google on it, and search the lowest price. VERY nice headset for the money. Super Le Tours might not have RD hangers, but SLT 12.2's do, since they have forged dropouts. My 12.2 doesn't have chrome rear drops either, so another vote for a Voyageur 11.8. The chrome tipped forks on my 12.2 also have a rainbow stripe border, and this has red like the 11.8. It would have come with Altus LT derailleurs, my 12.2 had Shimano 600. The fork crown is another giveaway. I believe the Super Le Tour is a different type, as mine is. Congrats, nice find and an excellent price for a Panasonic made Schwinn.,,,,,BD
