AMF Roadmasters
I rencent aquired an AMF Roadmaster 12 speed bicycle. It features center pull dual pivot dicomp brakes and levers, The rear brake lever is on the left side of the bike and it has japanese made aluminim rims and the high flange hubs (can't find a name). The rear derailer is a shimono titlist GS. The front derailer just says Thunderbird on it. Both derailers are drilled with presumably from the mid 70's weight saving craze. Shimano shifters are on the stem.
The frame is awesome in weight and will climb these steep hills around my house like no one's business!!
Any information would be very helpful.

Roadmaster was primarily a dept. store bike.
The Thunderbird FD was early low grade Shimano. I think it was replaced by Tourney --which is still around.
Makes me think the whole package is Shimano. I believe this equipment came out when Suntour was the top dog in the parts business. The rims may be Araya which was also big back then.

I paid 10 dollars at the flea market for it and honestly it shifts so beautifully and rides very nice. I appreciate the input I was just hoping I didn't get robbed too badly :-)

Hey for $10 it's definately worth it
I agree about roadmaster product line but, if you can get some good use out of it is money well spent even if it was $50. Figure worst case scenario ride it on rainy days and you won't have to worrya bout it getting ruined.
