Sticky for brand line ups?

Why doesn't this forum have a sticky that list brand line ups through the years. Each thread could be for people to post catalogues, ads, knowledge about hierarchy, etc. for various popular brands of vintage bikes. It would make it so much easier for folks to access answers to simple questions rather than having them posted over and over or having to do a search and then read through several threads hoping to find specific information. With all of the knowledge so many here have, if it were put together in one placeit would really be a great resoure. I am thinking of threads like centurion, peugeot, nishiki, mercian, fuji, and so on where a person who came across a nishiki International could look to see to quickly see where it fell in the line up. This kind of thing would certainly speed up the learning process here. Perhaps a moderator or someone could move newly posted items according to relevance and where they fit in chronologically. Anyone else agree?

It would be great, but I think it would be nearly impossible. With just one brand would be a huge list from year to year. There is a great resource here by using the search feature and using the C&V board. You can generally find a lot of information you might be looking for especially with the popular Japanese brands.

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

Check our stickies for C & V links. www.bulgier.net has a large collection of catalogs, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to what was made.

We do have several serial number threads that serve that purpose. It's one reason why most people here don't whinge about old threads being resurrected--there is a lot of very useful information here, and it's always possible to add to our database.

You will often see me encourage people to set down the components on lesser known makes just in case someone years from now does a search...and the information will be here.

A thread on a forum isn't really the best place to build such a list. It would get pretty ungainly very fast and not very easy to search. I like the idea, though.
