Its here
Got the Bianchi from Bigbossman this afternoon. Most of you have already seen it on the forum and my camera is on the fritz so when I get some new batteries (I hope thats all thats wrong) I'll post some. I'm going to go with a predominately black scheme, wheelset and tires, handlebar and tape and saddle and then I'll use celeste cable housing. I think thats gonna look cool, I don't want to take away from the frame color
but first to finish the mixte as I promised Mrs. (what do you mean you got another project) Stringbreaker

Oh I feel so used now
BBM and to all here on the forum. John is a great guy to deal with very helpful and patient. I always have lots of questions and he is most gracious. This is gonna be a really cool ride when its complete. I think I'm going to have to get another bike stand so I can work on both this bike and the mixte at the same time. As long as the mixte gets done first.

Speaking of which, we haven't seen a mixte update in a loooooooong time.... What's up with that?

Howard Duff.
Why Howard Duff, you ask? Why not?
I was riding BART one afternoon, and happened to sit across the aisle from a homeless guy - shopping cart full of "stuff", several layers of clothes, etc. We struck up a conversation, and it seems Roger was very well-versed in old black an white movies (as am I). Pretty surprising, really, as I don't really know many people that care for the old B&W's any more - at least not to the extent that I do. Anyway, we had a delightful discussion, and somewhere in the middle of it he said he thought I bore more than a passing resemblance to Howard Duff.
So there you go.

A very young Howard Duff. I remember him from a lot of movies and tv shows. He was my mothers favorite actor, very versatile (sp) actor played good guys great and bad guys better. Oh yeah the mixte. I've got it mocked up except for the brake cables which I haven't ordered and the adapters to make the bridle wires longer. We made up our minds to get some Salsa short and shallow handlebars so thats on the list to get next payday I think and then after that its off to the local powdercoaters in the area to see if we can find that color Mrs. SB wants, or at least something close.

I know that feeling. I've been scrounging up a down payment on a Gazelle. But that's another thread.

Ok ok, photos posted in a new thread.
Now to our regularly programmed thread about a very nice looking Bianchi.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but we saw through any attempts to convince us otherwise long ago.
