Off the bike for at least 2 days
Had to have some oral surgery today and the doc said no riding for 2 days. No activity that would raise my blood pressure so I don't hemmorage at the surgery site. Man that really sucks cause it looks like we are going to get our summer this week Hopefully I can ride Friday. I'm gonna call and see if thats ok. It should be it would be after the 2 day limit. I'm sitting here feeling I got kicked in the face.

I like to win a competition, but winning this one means I'm the loser. I've got you both beat, I've been off of the bikes since March 10th, and won't be able to get back on until July 4 the earliest, possibly not until August 1st. I had rotator cuff surgery. I find out next Monday if I can begin riding a trainer. They removed a quarter inch of bone spur growth from the socket and mended a torn muscle due to the bone spur.
I knew I liked cycling, now I know how much. This REALLY sucks.

The thing that really sucks it we are going to have a stretch of weather in the 70's and 80's for the next few days and if I can't ride by Thursday I'm gonna shoot myself. Who knows when we will get a 3 or 4 day stretch of good riding weather here in the Pacific Northwet.

Held up for a cable guide You should see it John its gonna be a beaut. Just from what I have installed it looks really great. Tomorrow I'll install the brake cables and when I get that guide finish the dr cables then put the tires on and get the chain which I had to order from Brian then I can have her take a spin on it and we can do all the adjustments of the saddle and handlebars. I will indeed post some pictures

I can relate. Different issues though, stuff like babysitting the kids or to many errants that need to get done or working 12hr a day...
On your case you could:
1) Clean the bike, lube the chain, the works.. then get it in front of the house and pose.
2) Visit the LBS, talk with the OCPs and pose.
3) Go to the local coffee shop (or whatever is your local OCP gathering place of choice) and pose.
4) Read bicycle web sites.
5) Increase your post count here at the BF.
6) Drive around in your car doing some 'ride route hunting'.
7) Take pics of your bike, post them on the net an E-pose.

I feel your pain...I took two weeks off to attend to my fiance's recovery after her surgery yesterday.
I'm away from my bikes, didn't bring one with me...not like I'll have a chance to ride anyway.
Round the clock personal nurse service.
It's going to be 4-6 weeks for full recovery. I hope I won't be needed for that long a period.

Something must be in the internet electrons.
Sunday at my early service, one of my members and I decide to ride later in the afternoon. It will be sunny and in the high 60s. He said, "Call me after the second service and we'll set a time."
So, after the next service ends, most everyone has left, and I'm checking doors and windows. I'm really thinking about where we'll ride: 25 miles around the lake? 35 miles up and over the mountain? 30 miles out and back on our flat stretch? And I'm not paying attention to where I'm walking and I run full force into the edge of an open door.
Well, long story short, I ended up at the ER, have 6 stitches above the right eye, and orders from the Doc to keep the bikes parked for at least a week.
I think we all need a big group and hope we all get our wheels back soon!
