Things I have been stumbling upon
I have not been posting here but it looks like I will have too.
Recently I went to an old friend and he gave me his old peugot C105. It is a very nice bike,I gave it to my youngest step son. He is in love with it.(secretly so am I)
I went to the local Goodwill and found a Schwinn Varsity. All Suntour equipment except the front derailer which is some no name peace. It is in fair condition. It is a brown one.
The seat is not original but that is ok. I think I have the stuff to fix it up except that derailer. I would like to find an original. I gave it to my middle step son. We haven't got it together so he can ride it.
Next a month or so later I went back and the same store had a light blue Schwinn Continental. Looks like it has been stored all it's life. A few rock chips to take care of and a new set of decals and it would be a new bike. Even has the schwinn tires on it still. I need to find the original type bar tape cause one side is only half wrapped. I gave it to my eldest step son that one. I would like to get him and his brother a cycle computer to complete the package for them.
Then today I went back and found a very very nice women's Free Spirit for my wife. It has a step through frame which was something that she demanded.( she has a nerve damage in one of her feet and has a problem getting on and off a regular bike.) It is a red one and looks like a new one. A couple of new tubes and it looks like it could go cross country.
The part that will kill about this whole thing is I did not give more than $4.50 for any one of these bikes.
I also know that you guys are going to want pictures. As soon as I can I will post pictures.
Thanks for your time.
