Mrs. Stringbreakers mixte first ride

Went for a nice little ride this evening with the Mrs. on her mixte and me riding my Continental and our daughter rode her old Raleigh Sports. Mrs Stringbreaker is happy to report the mixte rides like a charm and shifts like butter. Everytime I would ask her how's this and how's that she would just smile and laugh. She told me she couldn't believe how smooth it was and how fast it seemed to want to go. I told her "steel is real baby steel is real" We were going to go out yesterday but she had to go to the Chiropractor for her neck and didn't want to take a chance on messing it up again and besides she didn't have the proper color (pink) helmet to ride it and distance. So I'm happy she likes it and I had so much fun building this bike for her and when I get the pink hoods and the bars wrapped I will post pictures of the completely finished job with her aboard

Glad she enjoyed it!

Why would would she want to mess up her neck AFTER going to the chiropractor?

She wanted to give it another day of no stress on it by possibly jarring it on a bump or by wrenching it when turning to look at traffic. Sometimes the slightest thing will set it off so when she goes to the bone cruncher she always takes it easy for a day or so. She knows her body well enough that I don't question

I knew she would like the pink themed bars to go with the cables! When you get it setup for her, you will need to have Aero Smith's song "Pink" playing in the garage. How about a set of downtube decals made up by JRrestore that read: "Mixte Pinke"

PB: I'm having JR do some nice little pink hearts for the fork tubes and a " Custom made for Sheila 2008" for the downtubes. I'm still trying to come up with something for the seat tube. Maybe something like the swirly thing I have on the Continental that came from the old Schwinn Corvettes. She really did like the idea of the pink hoods and tape. I had to look all over the place to find the hoods and eventually found them on a site in England.
