Max tooth sizes question.
Hi folks. I recall reading somewhere that the max. cog for the Suntour Superbe Pro on my Raleigh was 26t, but I'm wondering if there might be enough wiggle room for a 28t. Anyone try this? It's the regular (short) cage r. der.

If your chainrings are relatively close in size and you fiddle a bit with the derailleur position, the wheel position in the dropout, and the chain length, you can probably just make a 28T cog work, but it may be a bit slow shifting into and out of low gear. I have used a seven-speed 14-18 freewheel and a 52-44 chainring set with an old short-cage SunTour V derailleur, but I think the Superbe is a bit tighter in its geometry.
