144 BCD 39/40t?

Another question: Does anyone know where I might find a 39 or 40t chainring for a Sakae SA w/144mm BCD? They seem to be pretty close to extinction......

Thanks!

I don't think they ever were. AFAIK, 42t was/is as small as 144BCD rings get.

Yep, 42T it be. TA will sell you a 42T tripilizer ring so you can turn the double into a triple crank.

144BCD is the ever popular track crank.

Bikes: Eight homemade, three very dusty

I believe TA also makes a 41t 144bcd ring and that's the smallest possible. 39 is the smallest for 135 bcd and 38 for 130.

The TA triplizer setup is cool. Not cheap, but very cool.

41 is the lowest number of teeth on a 144 BCD ring, but they're really tough to find, and are expensive when you do find them. 42 is pretty common.

41T TA is as low as you can go.

True on all counts. 38 is also the smallest I have ever seen with either a 128mm BCD (Nervar) or a 122 (Stronglight).

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a bunch!

I guess 42mm it is ($66 is a bit steep for one less tooth, so I'll just toughen up one tooth's worth......)
