Advice on upgrading a Trek 400
I have a red Trek 400.. circa 1984 and have just started to look at upgrading etc..
I wonder if anyone has any experience/advice on what is reasonable.
I was thinking of upgrading the tires/wheels etc. and leaving prettty much everything about the same. I would like to make it through the year before I consider a new bike.. (( or put my Trek on cragislit/etc.))
thanks.

What wheels and tires does it have on now? I'd guess 27", so going to 700c would give you some more tire options (and allow a fatter tire if that's what you're looking for). You would, however, need another 4mm of brake reach to do that conversion.
Basically, the question is, what about the performance are you unhappy with now?
