actually, in Wageningen a road bike as a hauler to the train station makes sense, everything is so far apart out there in the countryside :P

I always assumed the horizontal slot was a Serier trademark, but recently I encountered an old Presto track with the feature in the Presto shop and Loek Valk claimed it was from Legrand. This left me a bit puzzled. Your bike has nothing from Slesker in it.

I sent an email to Presto, and Loek replied:
Dit frame is zeker niet door Peter Serier, maar door Jan Legrand gebouwd in 1972 Met vriendelijke groet, Loek Valk Presto Amsterdam / Oostzaan / Heemskerk In English: this frame was definitely built by Jan Legrand in 1972. |

Any idea what a frame like this would do on Ebay/Marktplaats? I am not really looking into selling it - but might consider if i can get a good price for it.
What Loek says sounds plausible. With everything clamped on the frame gives the impression it dates from before Serier-era. |

It depends on how committed you are to get the max revenue out of it. For 100 euro it is gone within a blink of the eye, for 300 you'll have to try harder.

I'll think about it maybe i'll put it up and see what happens.... |
since it's a Legrand frame and not Peter Serier and it's disappointing
you could ship it overseas to me, I don't have a Presto in my dutch collection. Marty |

That should be interesting for you to see what that one will fetch. ;) I still would keep it myself if I were you. What size is yours ?
The seller has a lot of really nice looking stuff and a great looking Zieleman as well :) My Presto is ct53. |

I definitely like the looks of that bike as well if it does't get any higher bids i am gonna be tempted. Strange that the lettering survived and the Presto decals seem to have disappeared.

Are you Dutch? It says: "in volledig originele staat" which might mean that there never where any Presto decals on the bike, i love this red/yellow/blue coloring on the seat tube.

I am Dutch :) it says " in volledig originele staat "but I still wonder about that because I can't imagine a Presto being delivered without the Presto decals. This Presto is a little bit unlike others I have seen actually, later Prestos from the 70's all had the chromed fork with the typical smooth surface as does yours. I certainly like this forkcrown as well :)

The current highest is maybe just enough for the TA cage alone :p
I don't think it came without cranks originally. The Zieleman he offers I spotted in Italy, during L'eroica. Neat bike. Unfortunately I can't afford it. |
