Dr. Deltron

I just talked to Mark on the phone and he wanted me to tell you all that he's alive and well. He still doesn't have a computer, but he said that a friend offered him a CPU. I told him that I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse he can have. I've probably got a pair of speakers here somewhere.

He said that he's going to try to have my Peugeot done by the end of the week and that he'll deliver it. I just ordered an Edco 121mm bottom bracket for it. I'm hoping it will work with the chrome Record triple.

I've been wondering where he's been. Good to know, thanks for the update!

From: An Island on the Coast of GA!

Bikes: Snazzy* Schwinns, Classy Cannondales & a Super Pro Aero Lotus (* Ed.)

Woooo Hoooo! What no pre-build, pre-delivery, pre-teaser pictures? Of course I'm guilty enough for posting so many pre-completed "Sporty" pictures maybe the mods should ban me from C&V?

Did you ask Mark what length Phil Wood BB we used in Sporty? Of course I used a triplizer which might require a different spacing.

Best of luck and if I talk to Mark I'll limit the conversation to 5 minutes or less and encourage him to stay focused!

I didn't realize that he was computerless. I'd be willing to donate an older lime-green iMac (350 or 400 MHz only) if he wants it -- it has an ejection-challenged CD drive, though (but can be coaxed into working). USB printer too.

My triple calls for a 120mm spindle, but the Edco allows for a few millimeters of chainline adjustment. I found the correct Campy NR spindle, but it can only be used with thin cups and all of mine are thick.

My daughter said that she's never known me to talk on the phone for so long. Mark is a talker and I'm most definitely not. That's why it took me so long to get around to calling him. Funny thing is, I make my living interviewing people on the phone. I think they appreciate the fact that it's over quickly.
