Well, if the short cage Triomphe's performance is anything to go by, then it will average at best, totally crappy at worst

I have a short cage Triomphe and find it to be totally adequate. Granted I'm no racer but when I want to shift it shifts. Am i missing something?
I will add that I was using a Victory Der for a while, which is supposed to be superior, and I really didn't notice a difference.

Pretty much the size of it. According to Frank Berto, the LX long-cage RD's were a little worse in regards to performance on wide-range FW's.
