SOMA Generation - Pedals?

I recently picked up, for free, a SOMA Generation bike, probably from late 70s/early 80s. Its missing pedals. Does anyone know if the pedals for this bike would be of 1/2" or 9/16"? I can always do trial+error, but I'd rather save myself a trip to the store if possible.

It has "Alero Cold Forged" cranks on it

Bikes: One or more from each decade since 1970

Look on the crank arm. It may be stamped there for your edification.
