Austria sears 3speed
I pick up a sears three speed womans bike. It needs cables but other than that it is in decent shape. It is my understanding this bike is made by Puch. I had originally planned on putting drop bars on it, making a 3 speed road bike but I just can't bring myself to modify it from original

They are wonderful bikes! I think that Puch is correct...
I've had several over the years and this is my latest: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=437245 Does hers look similar to this? If so, clean/lube and ride it. I wouldn't modify it much if I were you... They are making a nice comeback and you can easily get a nice chunk of $$ jing if you ever want to sell it, seriously..... Clean off the rear 3 speed hub (they shine up nicely w/ degreaser or even dish soap w/ a little bit of hot water, just wipe it dry right away) and look for the 2-digit code. That will be your year. How about some photos? |
mine is a woman version of that bike. Exceptions being mine has short chrome fenders and a twist shifter witch isn't original I 'm thinking I would like to find a trigger type shifter. I have brake cables to put on it .I will try to get a pic posted soon. by the way , when my feet or knees are giving mt problems the step thought frame ought to make it easier to get on a bike
