Soma Questions...

I traded some items to the honorable roccobike for his Soma Competition, as I'm a curious sort. It came with a Brooks B17 saddle, and appears well-ridden and has decent components (Shimano 600 all around).

I'd never heard of a Soma before that. I know they didn't make bikes very long. There are no decals or stickers, or braze-ons or much of anything except lugs and paint on the frame. I will be restoring it "as is," with the exception of new black bar tape.

Anyone with any links or clues to Soma components/history, etc is welcome to chime in.

Thanks,

Robbie,
I bought my ex a soma competition mixte back in the late 70s. As I recall it was a nice
if nondescript japanese bike. Good value for the money but nothing 'special'
Do a search here for Soma, there are a lot of threads.
Nothing on CR web site but Sheldon mentions Soma in his japanese bike
page ( https://sheldonbrown.com/japan.html )
btw they have nothing to do with the current Soma fabrications bikes components etc.
