PX10 handle bar wrap...what to use?

I need to put new wrap on my PX10 handle bars and they only carry the new style cork wrap at the bike shop.. Would the cork wrap be close enough to the original? If now what should I use.
Thanks,
Paul

Velox cloth bar tape. Pretty widely available, on line at least. Cateye if you can't find Velox.

Definitely cloth tape. Wear gloves though, because it won't exactly be cushy.

I think PX10's came with terrible textured white plastic tape.

Bikes: Still have a few left!

Although not period correct, cork tape with 3-5 coats of amber shellac gives a vintage look with much more comfort than the cotton tape.

The Px10 I need the tape for is all original including tires that still hold air. It has a black cloth like wrap that is coming apart and needs to be replaced. This brings me to an interesting problem, is the bike worth more original even if the wrap is coming off? The cables are shot also and I was going to replace those.

Also would white wrap on this bike be a sin?

Thanks for your help guys.

Ambrosio.

Thinly padded vinyl, looks vintage but has cushion, and is very easy to clean. Also, only about $3 a roll.

No, but it would be the devil to keep clean.

Ha, it sure would but I am sure I won't be riding this bike much.
