G LaPierre road bike?

Just bought this bike from a friend and it says G LaPierre on the decals. I don't think the bike is anything special because it has steel rims and other cheap parts, it is also a bit heavy. I thought I could use the pedals and brakes. The frame does have nice lugs though.

The main bike, a bit ratty looking.

The frame decals and lugs.

The center pull brakes and head badge.

The flimsy cotered crank.

A simplex derailler I can use for parts

That is one tall stem. Possibly Nitto? Looks to be a cut above the rest of the bike.

Never seen that rack/attachment before, it's graceful. Those might be Nervar cranks. That stem is about to fly off the bike.
Nice catch!

Yeah, I thought it was odd enought to warrent $25 bucks and I can use some of the parts if I decide to part it out.
