Easy come, easy go.

Last week, I finally seized the Schwinn Super Sport from the treasure trove, along with a Bendix Automatic 2 (I've put in a huge amount of work on that project, so I decided that I deserved them).

Then, as if in exchange for my greed, my daily rider, a Schwinn Le Tour III Single Speed conversion with my only (ca. 1975) Brooks saddle was stolen from where I work. Poop.

Ironically, the Super Sport is really a little smaller than I want (and the Brooks originally came from a Super Sport of similar vintage).

Then, tonight, after teaching a bike maintenance class at the bike co-op, I was hanging around, and some people came by. I could have told them to come back when the shop was open, but I invited them in to look around.

I ended up selling the guy a really nice Centurion that had just been donated, a nice big, light, Infinity tubed frame, that I had my eye on as a replacement for the Le Tour.

The Buddha teaches equanimity in all things. I'm trying. I really am.

Think of it this way:

The Le Tour was taken by a guy who could no longer afford gasoline but still needed to find a way to work.

The Super Sport still needs to find the right sized owner (i.e. offer it for trade).

The Centurion brought in needed cash at the co-op.

The right bike is still out there for Roll-Monroe-Co!

I'm with Pastorbobnlnh, the giving and the taking is almost tidal in its consistency, so a tidal wave of good stuff is in store for you.

Thanks, guys. Yes -- I always come back to: if you're not getting what you want out, put more in.
