Need help with Batavus Course Bike

Greetings!
I have a chance to get a Batavus Course roadbike. I need some help in dating it, and arriving at a possible value. It has the shifters on the downtubes. Any thoughts on how old it is,and what it's worth? I'm not sure where to find more info on these Dutch bikes. Thanks, harry O.

Bikes: 1 trek, serotta, rih, de Reus, Pogliaghi and finally a Zieleman! and got a DeRosa

Hard to help date the bike based on that picture alone.
Batavus is an old established Dutch builder, and known to produce
some very nice bikes.

Normally I'd say check ebay for pricing but you'll find very few Batavus auctions.
There is currently one Batavus Professional on ebay, grossly overpriced.
The course is probably the 2nd or 3rd model from the top (professional).

Components, your location, condition all will play into what the bike is worth,
a better picture (if available) would help us too.

Looks like it might be lower midrange, if similar to the one listed in this scan from an '84 catalogue. The one you're considering looks newer, perhaps by a year or so (no chrome on forks, newer looking crank). Batavus was sold in 1986 and stopped importing to the U.S., so I'm not sure what happened to the production of their road models after that.

High-tensile tubing, Sakae cranks, Weinmann brakes, Shimano Altus derailleurs. So nothing high-end. I can't read the rest!

I probably wouldn't pay more than $50-$75 in very good condition, if I really wanted it. But then, I have too many bikes.
