Cherubim
 

I am still researching my Cherubim. I am not finding any frame numbers or ser #. Where should I be looking? This was a custom made bike for a Marine stationed in Japan probably 70's. I am out of touch with him so I can not be sure. Is there a way to date the bike using the equipment? It is all original except pedals and seat. Is there a shop in So Cal, close to Temecula, that would know vintage bikes and how to find clues as to age? Would it help if I take photos of all markings and show photos here. I have written Andrew Muzi but have not heard from him yet. And if I have not asked enough questions yet let me ask one more. I need 1700 for new bikes ..am I dreaming of finding it in this bike. Bring that stem down before anything else - looks as if the binder wedge might be right around the threaded area of the steerer. Not good for the stem nor the fork. Give the stem a thin coat of grease when you install it as well.

I rode the bike once, it was just not tall enough. The bars are as high as I could get them. It measured about 51-52 cm.

Doesn't matter - you may cause damage to the fork by doing so, for the stem is not meant to be clamped into this relatively weak section of the steerer tube.

The first bike shop thought I had a 3rensho, and I don't , so today I took it to a 2nd bike shop the guy there said it would make good transportation and I should sell it for $50. lol I emailed a Dave at one of the vintage web sites. hope he writes back, At least the hunt is educational. If I can't get a good price for it I am thinking of giving it to someone who can appreciate it.
