Campy Gran Turismo RD upgrade

I'm thinking about upgrading the original RD on my 71 Sports Tourer with something lighter...I'm running the original 54/36 chainwheels with a 14-34 5-speed freewheel (not the original skip-tooth, however - it's a SunTour Perfect). Any suggestions as to what might cover that range? Old, new - doesn't matter. Thanks!

just about anything is lighter, and will work better. If you have to keep it campy, get a later ralley or a long cage nuovo record - these can be found on eBay regularly and work pretty well. Otherwise, to keep the bike period correct, I'd recommend a Suntour touring rear.
