Patch/patching a saddle?

Any one have any tips for patching a saddle? I found this new anatomical type saddle at a sporting goods store for $1.50. The reason it was so cheap was that it was torn where the fabric bends underneath. It is vinyl not leather. Any tips to hide that imperfection and put it on one of my resales? Thanks.
