Got an e-mail from Alessandro Guerciotti

===========1st e-mail===========

Dear Sir,
Alessandro has been another owned by Guerciotti brand. Alessandro is Paolo Guerciotti's son who has decided to make a new brand with his son's name. It has got a big success mainly in USA, but it has not got the same success in Europe. The quality was the same high quality of all Guerciotti products of that time.
Best regards

that's not the serial number, it's the frame size. My Viner is the same way, no serial number, just a size.

Well, that [sorta] adds another piece to the puzzle of one of my bikes. When I bought the bike it had these big ugly seat and down tube panels (in bad shape) labeled Alessandro (not as pretty as your decals), as well as a [similar to yours] late 80's paint scheme and Columbus decals. Even had a Tange chrome front fork [with Columbus decals]. I couldn't find any info on the brand & stripped the bike. What I found was a French metric 531 frame from probably around 1981 (based on components), so the bike never was an Alessandro. It's kind of odd that someone would have gone to this trouble to rebadge it as a relatively unknown marque.

That is fairly odd. Let all the real 1000 Alessandro bikes in the world unite!

Hi Guys, I own an original Alessandro red/white paint and yellow decals, size 52 Frame. I'ld say is in an 80% good condition. I bought it back in 1999 here in Southern California rode it for a few years and shipped to Costa Rica where I still have it, but I don't ride it at all anymore. Next trip down there, I'll take some pics of the frame and share them with all of you. Take care.

Hi, nice to heard from a fellow Alessandro bike owner. Sounds like a cool idea. I'm all for it. Stay in touch.
Richard.
