product field testing

i was finishing a pleasant ride with my regular partner this evening. i'd just pulled up alongside him ,then he swung across, not realising my position and all i remember is hitting the brakes, followed by a loud 'crack' sound. weather-sunny/ mid-60's road-dry/smooth, slight uphill incline, speed -approx 20mph
ouch.
condition of test dummy-stiff neck, contusion on left elbow, sprained thumb/wrist, & minor abrasions on left hip,elbow,ankle-expect to be a little bit sore tommorrow but otherwise okay

condition of bike-overall better than expected, frame okay-will inspect fork, handlebars tommorrow, saddle is toast, minor scratches to right brake lever, both hoods, both bar ends, rear derailleur,*both* pedals, left shoe strap mechanism mangled, minor cosmetic damage to digital camera in rear jersey pocket

fortunately both wheels straight, shifting and alignment appear okay, minimal paint damage

synopsis-wear a helmet...please
- imo, i'd be in hospital on life support or dead had i not been wearing it

best,
k
