Chorus and Record compatibility

Hi! I just bought a set of NOS Chorus pedals, the one that look similar to C record. ( mid 80s) The packaging was complete and in the instructions was a piece of paper saying the pedals were not suitable for Record , Victory etc cranks. I thought all pedals were interchangeable. Help!

That's weird, I never heard of anything like that. There are different thread sizes for pedals but I would assume those are 9/16 and so are all of those cranks. Strange. Maybe someone else has heard of that.
