on the subject of seating beads...I dunno, but whenever I have a problem seating the bead at the valve stem, it is because the tire bead is on top of the tube right at the valve stem patch. While the tire is completely deflated, push the valve stem in as far as you can get it to go. This will move the tube in past the bead. Inflating will go much better.

We really need to see pictures...

I am really dumb--why didn't I think of that? Thanks, I will try that--it should work.

I learned that the hard way, by blowing out a tube because I didn't get the tire seated properly around the valve. A tube makes an amazingly loud noise when it blows out while you're inflating it in a stairwell indoors.

Certainly looks alot better outside!
So is there a single Campy component left on it? If not that's false advertising with the huge sticker and all..... I'll donate some shifters to the cause! What size seat post?

The only thing I can see that's Campy are the dropouts!

:roflmao2:

I've got some Campy parts floating around, I'll have to see if I can find them.

Not even the seat post binder bolt?!?!? Can't really see any reason one of those would have been swapped out unless someone was ham fisted...

I didn't check that...I know it's a Laprade seat post though.

Let me take a look.

someone turned it into a schwank touring rig. It looks like the bottom bracket is still campy.

do you really ride a 46?

unh, I mean, wow! ...you don't ever have to duck for doors, huh?

I can stand upright in plane seats next to windows and not hit my head on luggage bins.

By the way, the Rubinos are on both wheels now, and properly seated. I didn't have time to check the Campy remnants today, but will pay more attention tomorrow. I will take it for a test ride tomorrow too :) .

Guys, she rides a 46. She sees things we "overlook."

Sorry, EH, I couldn't help it.
