I was thinking campione d'Italia. I remember wanting one due to it's all Italian components
even if they weren't all Campagnolo.
even if they weren't all Campagnolo.

Ok, unfortunately there's no decal saying what type of tubing it's made of, my guess would be columbus SL?
serial number is 872237. stamped on top of the head tube. the rear derailleur look like a campagnolo 980 and the front derailleur like a nouvo-record / Nuovo Valentino according to velo-base.

That would put it a notch above my somewhat older Campione d'Italia, which has a Columbus tre tubi frame. Mine came with all-Italian componentry, as well, with Ofmega cranks and hubs and Modolo brakes instead of Campagnolo.

I've read that Formula 1 is better than Formula 2 and both are Columbus tubesets selected by Bianchi from the standard range of Columbus tubing. So Formula1 might be Columbus SLX with an SL downtube or the butt sections might be longer/shorter and so on. Formula 2 might be a lower grade of tubing, like Cromoly or similar. Tre Tubi frames only have Double Butted Columbus main tubes. Other tubes could be Falck stays - plain guage Cromoly or steel.
I'm sure there was a posting about this on BF some time ago. Doesn't mean it's a bad frame, it's still quality tubing!
