Where'd my trike thread go?
Where did my trike thread go? I'm having trouble finding it currently. I thought it was in this section. Hmmm, curious, help I"ve dropped my thread like a ball bearing and it rolled under the couch.....
edit:
Anyway, whereever it went, I was going to add that I was at a some thrift shops recently and found out that some kids bikes have 28 spoke rims, I think in a 24" or 20" diameter. Haven't been able to find any 28 hole rims in 26", 27" or 700c. So it looks like if I need to relace the rear wheels I can probably find a kids bike or new rim in a smaller 28 hole format.
I've also taken the old frame off of the trike and found the serial number on the head tube placing that portion of the thing as a 1976 model, so I assume the rear three-speed trike hub is also around a 1976 model year. I couldn't find any identifier on the hub so far, might be hidden behind the gunk on the hub.
I also picked up an old step thru frame Schwinn Suburban 10-speed with 27" wheels, haven't worked out the date on that one yet but I"m thinking it might make for a functional front portion of the trike rebuild if I continue with this rebuild.

When did you post it? I'm not finding a trike post unless it was earlier than August of this year.

Why couldn't I find it********** I searched using "trike" and tried " 3 wheeler" and tried looking for threads started by me. I even went page by page and must have glossed over it, I must be having a blind bat night tonight.
Oh well, copy and paste time. Thanks for the rescue.

Now I'm wondering how many bikes were at a thrift shop I stopped at tonight and didn't see any bikes there. There were probably 14 vintage bikes hiding behind the raincoats.

I tried that same trick and didn't find it. I'm going to go to HalfPriceBooks tomorrow and find a Blind Melon CD to play if this ever happens again.
