1971 dbs
My momma (who still bikes frequntly!) owns a 1971 DBS with weimann dynamic rear brakes. She asked me if there's supposed to be a second spring(it kinda looks like there should be). Anyway, I got Nuthin'! Anybody out there have an answer?

It's the love child of ye ole weimann linear pull brakes, and a V brake. Imagine a old school linear pull brake with (where the two arms overlap) a channel carved into the front of the rear arm, and a corresponding nubb on the rear of the front arm. The cable doesn't pull from the center however, it's off to the side(identicacle to a V brake) but with the adjusting screw on the bottom and the cablenutthing on the other. The spring attatches to the bracket that both arms are attatched to, then up to a little rest on the back of the cablenutthing.
I learned how to build bikes with no instruction, formal or otherwise, so please pardon the lack of correct terminology.
So, there is also a little bung near the bottom of the rear arm that suggests a second spring similar to that of the old linear pull brakes. It almost appears that there once was something there, but was there?
I'll try and get some pictures of it up soon.
