Colour coordination woes... Help?

Soooo...I'm looking for a new saddle. My current one is breaking. I'm looking for something vintage-looking (doesn't have to actually BE vintage.) and something sort of race-oriented. Okay, fine, easy. Now the hard part...i want something that matches the accent paint on my frame. The colour is kind of a maroon colour...I'll show pictures, but showing accurate colour in photos is always hard.

Here's the pictures:

Any recommendations? Even better, anyone have a saddle on-hand that's the right color?

Cheers.

I think that an old schwin might work I think my first bike had a seat that color. It was a real nice girls one speed cruiser. I remember that it had a coaster brake and everything. The nice wide seat with the redish marroon and white two tone and of course the S on it. AAAAHHHH I was so heart broken when that bike got run over by the neighbor lady.

What color is the bike/everything else?
You may have difficulty finding a vintage-y maroon saddle. You could have a honey brooks over-dyed, I suppose.

The rest of the bike is a champagne color, which is probably even harder to find a saddle to match.

Do some searches for a Bernard Hinault saddle. I don't remember the manufacturer, but I bought a bike years ago that had a saddle that exact color. It had "Bernard Hinault" on the sides. Good luck.

SDG makes a Belair in that color and black, and you can get covers, I think.

That's actually the saddle that is on the bike right now! It's a fantastic saddle, but it's broken!

If I could find another one of those, I'd do so in a second, but they're horrendously hard to find. There's not a single one on all of eBay.

According to their website, the only saddles that they make that comes in the color is a BMX/freeride saddle. It's actually pretty nifty looking, but it's short and stubby, and clearly isn't a road saddle.

It may have come in that color at one point, but eBay has nothing of the sort.

The saddle on the Black Dog is an SDG Bel Air, black and burgundy. I pulled it from eBay about a year ago or so. Keep the faith, they're out there.

I've got that Bernie H Turbo in black, and I intend to put it on a Centurion Turbo. After seeing that Turbo in color, though, I'm going to the local cobbler, he can dye anything leather, and a ballpoint pinstripe pen can re-do that logo. Something worth considering.

yeah, dyeing would work. buy the white leather saddle of your choice and have it dyed to match the bike.

that's what I'd suggest, too: dye a white Turbo. Check out the new "retro" offerings from Selle San Marco now in white (Nashbar), but after you dye it you'll have to find matching shorts, y'know.

Matching shorts, an idea I tried. Purple wasn't the best way to open that can.

Hahahahaha purple shorts.

I think you guys are definitely onto something with the white saddle + dye idea. Since the actual "Turbo" text is in some sort of paint, will it show through the dye? I don't want to deface a Turbo too badly.

Also, who would be able to dye it for me? A shoe repair place, perhaps?

I think the logo will show since the dye is (mostly) transparent.

Yes, a shoe repair or shop for some Fiebings dye and DIY.

sella italia elite or is it the lite. It is a racing saddle with not much padding on it, or leather, or much of anything it has TI rails and is light.

I used a spraybomb leather dye I got from the shoe repair on a pair of suede shoes. The shoes have kept the color and the dye has never transfereed onto my socks. The brand name was emu, they make a dye for smooth leather they claim does not rub off.

Ask any wedding planner... The women in weddings often have to buy shoes and have them dyed to match dresses, etc. Here, it's the shoe repair guy. But I'll bet if you ask at a bridal shop, they can tell you.

For price, maybe try a white Vetta Turbo. Or maybe a white saddle with burgundy trim, like some of those on line or at Nashbar.
