$500 headset !

$500 headset !
I was curious to know if this is a normal selling price for those headsets or if the seller just got the right buyer at the right time. Thanks for your imput!

Maybe someone wanted the correct vintage year for the their vintage project? Looks like a normal Nuovo Record to me. But I've only used NV starting from early 80's so that's what I know they look like. Looks like the one in my parts box.

Yes, early Campagnolo headsets are worth big money. That's not a shocking price at all. Maybe for a period project, but just as likely purchased by a Campagnolo collector.

It is not your usual Nuovo record headset, it's a 3rd generation Record headset. The lettering is not recessed into the headset.

lol! Well, lets just say that if the i wouldn't mind losing 1k I would sell it complete... To be honnest , the condition of the frame makes a restauration unrealistic.
