1984 Cinelli Unica

I have a 1984 cinelli unica. I was wanting to find out a little more about it. Specifically the tubing. It has the model 600 component group and before I paint and change out the shifters I wanted to know more. Also how do I go about finding replacement decals if I decide to have it painted. Thanks.

Since you just joined, you have to donate your bike to RobbieTunes..... (new rule)....

Otherwise, welcome to the forum. East Hill will likely be speaking to you about images.

Get some good pictures, and look up JRestore on this thread for decals. He may need photos to duplicate same.

Bikes: Colnago (82, 85, 89, 90, 91, 96, 03), 85 Cinelli, 90 Rossin, 83 Alan, 82 Bianchi, 78 Fountain, 2 x Pinarello, Malvern Star (37), Hillman (70's), 80's Beretto Lo-Pro Track, 80's Kenevans Lo-Pro, Columbus Max (95), DeGrandi (80's) Track.

Hi carterpark,

I'm interested to read about the Unica. Are you sure it is an '84 built frame? I wasn't aware that the Unica's came out in '84.

The tubing would have to be Columbus as the Columbus family own Cinelli. What Columbus tubing? Now that I can't answer.

Best of luck,

Gary.

Bikes: many

I think the paint job is great and the decals in generally very good condition. I wouldn't mess with it, . . . and that's from someone who usually does mess with it.

It looks like a full-size Cinelli Alter stem

Very unique. Shame on you if you repaint it. Put some Meguiars Scratch X on it and polish it up.

Nice bike. You better hid it from RobbieTunes. Especially if he sees those nice Tricolor brakes.

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

Almost looks like an old-timey black & white picture with touch-ups in red and blue.

The decals are quite a departure from the usual understated look that Cinelli was known for.

I definitely ride it. I would like to find out what the tubing is. Not dead set on painting it. The entire group is the shimano 600 tri-color. it has the flag on the cranks and hubs as well.
