I got it as a whole bike off ebay about 9 years ago (see below). I've made quite a few changes...some non CV like but all in the name of making it more road worthy...it's a great riding bike and gets quite a few miles.

Just a quick 10 miles on the Bridgestone before breakfast and hitting the desk. (Not to The Pier as pictured....it is closed and slated for demolition :-(....) Weird quirkiness on my Bridgestone, I had thought I had a problem with the front bearing, took it apart twice, cleaned and reassembled...still getting a Shrick..shrick..shrick noise out of it...but not constant....finally figured out, it is the oversized 700/28s. It is JUST clearing the bottom of the steering tube, and if I pick up any sand or water from the street, the steering tube catches it...and the sound amplifies UP the tube right in my face! I didn't have this problem till I got a new pump and actually started putting 110 psi into them....

No smug emissions today. T-storm probability is much higher today. More importantly, the NWS issued an air quality alert for RI until 11PM.

I can't help but wonder. If only half the people who could have ridden a bike yesterday insted of driving had actually done so, perhaps we wouldn't have an air quality alert today.

Nice ride! You need to post that in the Think Pink! thread. Did you have that when I came over a while back, I don't remember it..

I think I DID post that in the PINK thread a ways back. I have changed out the saddle since this pic was taken...the RED was clashing with the pink. Found an all black that has a bit longer rails which makes a better fit for me too...I kept finding myself pushing back too far on this one.

It's a 56 (55TT) and even with that long stem, a little tight. But better with the new saddle. The old Italian I am rebuilding is a square 58x58. I have a LONG torso (or short legs), which makes bikes with shorter top tubes feel really tight for me.

Almost into a golf ball,

Cycling down descent past gold club at 40mph (according to Strava) when a white gold ball passes in front of me by about 2 foot, turned around and could see it bouncing in the road, scary. I assume it was completely coincidental and in no way malicious.

Well if you feel like it's cramping your style too much I'd love to have a crack at it. I'm sure it would fit me just fine, been looking for a decent pink bike

You're in a familiar state judging by the palms, soft-shell turtle (watch they're fast!), and the red-shouldered hawk.

Right next door to you here in St. Petersburg. those pics above are from riding the Pinellas Trail from end to end this past Sunday...with a few detours along the way.

I think I live close to Rubberlegs as I think I've met him and his son at a swap meet once. Seems there is a lot of C&V folks in our area. Maybe a meet up is in order one day.

That's what I've been saying. I'd love to meet up with a bunch of us and ride the trail.

I think there are close to a dozen of us BF'ers in the immediate Bay Area, would be fun to do a Saturday ride sometime!

After some time off for a lengthy vacation I'm back on the bike this week. Took the hybrid up in the hills this afternoon. Was probably a mistake as the logging trucks have really torn up the road and in some places have it down to rough bedrock. That made for an excruciating ride down the hills on the hands and arms. Ended up knocking the rear wheel out of true and still have the derailleur squeal - but I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and nature.

I live in central CA...at the base of some foothills below the Sequoia National Forrest. There are some great hills and country roads. Today I took a new 27 mile route...gonna find a new one tomorrow.

My daughter and I went for mocktails on the bridge... she went with her classic Raleigh Twenty and we were both riding three speeds.

I'm busy this weekend, too, but would totally be down for a Bay Area C&V ride.

Back on topic, got a little shard of glass in my tire at the end of my usual 10-mile route. I was carrying the bike inside and heard air leaking--perfect timing for a flat, if there is such a thing. Must've picked it up in the bike lane right near my house.

So who makes the best tire savers?

I would normally be at the 5000 km mark by this time of the year... would be lucky to have ridden 500km so far.
