Yesterday I did a solo metric century. it included stopping by my parents house in the middle of it and helping my dad with some yard work. Not having been riding as much lately as I normally do I was pretty pooped towards the end. I didnt eat enough from the onset and had to stop at a taco bell to get something as my only choice. I dont normally eat that slop and it made my stomach pretty upset. Aside from that it was a great ride and a beautiful day. Not many pics, I'm bad at that as I never feel like getting off the bike.

was riding the '68 Carlton Flyer.

its got a huge dent in the front fender from the night before when I fell on it with a wrench in my hand when i tripped over the lawn mover in the garage

the hell was I thinking?

this morning being fathers day I was able to get my entire family , my father, and my sisters family over to the local trial for a nice 12 mile ride. My wife's 3 sp won't fit on the rack easily so I took my son and the bike over to the trailhead and my wife drove there with my daughter. Worked nicely.
We had I think 7 bikes and 8 riders including my 11 month old in her car seat in a trailer towed by my father. My 7 year old nieces where there as well. It was pretty much impossible to get everyone together for pic, but I did snag one of my tow rig/kid carrier

and old hub and a bunji chord did a good job holding the bike on the back of my xtracycle.

I didn't get to ride anywhere today, but I did cast away my crutches and take a lap around the hotel on a cane YIPPIE.

OH yes, for those of you who missed it in my Mixte thread, I had some minor knee surgery friday to make some repairs to the ligaments.

Hope you get better soon.

I had mine a year ago and I'm back to riding constantly.

We rode around our hilly neighborhood today. Shortly thereafter, we went to the LBS and bought my daughter a new bike,... one with gearz, even.

She's young but gets (mentally) tired of slogging up the hills on a balloon tired, single speed cruiser. Hey, it's a nice cruiser, and light as cruisers go, but it is a single speed in hilly area.

Sorry Holiday, my bad.
Today my son and I rode out to Vashon Island to visit my Dad for Fathers' day.
We stopped en route and did a spin class Vashon style:

On Father's Day weekend Seenoweevil and I took a three day ride from Piedmont Alabama on the Chief Ladiga Trail crossing the state line into Georgia and continuing on the Silver Comet Trail to mile marker 4.2 and returning back to Piedmont. Total distance we rode was 145 miles. The temperature was 90+ and very humid. Nice to ride on paved road where motorized vehicles are not allowed. Seenoweevil was riding his Celeste 1991 Bianchi and I was on my 1988 Trek 400T. Lots of nice vintage bikes (saw a Major Nichols) on the trail especially at the Silver Comet Depot Cycle shop at mile marker 4.2.

Ha! My dad lives about 10 minutes from there, near the Tacoma ferry. Never seen that happening, though!

Of course, rides are logged a couple times a week over on rideblog... (hint hint)

Here's a pic from the one I did yesterday, on the Cedar River Trail. Only this bit, I did some off-roading (not really... just an unpaved stretch of subsidiary trail) on the Raleigh Sports. Ended up here:

We had turned around here, so just over 17 miles total, with our subsidiary loop:

Actually, I would have enjoyed that. I like to fish, but am not good at it. I also like to eat fish, and am very good at that part. What I don't like is being IN a river. NO NO. Having done my share of "forced" (read: chaperone) white water rafting, I have learned that I like rivers from a distance. So if I can stand on the shore and cast into the shallows, I like to fish. If I have to put on hip waders and get in... well, that's a different story.

Further up the river there was a guy doing just that, so there must be something to catch.

It's officially summer time.

There was a street fair in the Hollywood Riviera today. My wife and daughter drove over. I rode my bike. I beat them there by over ten minutes due to their parking hassles. The organizers had the foresight to fence off an area as a bike corral (parking lot). It was free to park there and there was an attendant watching the bikes. Bikes were tagged for proof of ownership.

We walked around for a while, then I rode home.

I had done two double centuries the last two weekends, so the plan was to make this a relaxed and fun ride. Beautiful day, though it got foggy at the end. Riding with BF member ahmose.

Going up over Santa Cruz mountains

Redwoods at Big Basin State Park

Descending to the coast

Highway 1 along the coast

Time to go back over the mountains

Similar ride to MetinUz, in the same general area. Nothing special - just a 55 mile to-the-beach-and-back. Looked something like this:

Did a nice 27 mile ride through the Petaluma backroads on a wonderful day. Part of a ride/swap starting at Bruce Gordans bike shop.
Just had to try this one out...

Here are a couple of snapshots of buildings that caught my eye during last nights ride, and a deer from this mornings commute.

Yesterday I explored around Estabrook Woods, a wooded preservation land in Concord. I started out alone on my Shogun 650B conversion along the Minuteman bike path out to Bedford, but as I approached the end of the minuteman bike path, I encountered my friend and fellow BikeForums C&Ver JPTwins. He was in no rush to get home from work, so he turned around and joined me.

Parts of Estabrook woods are rocky, parts or rooty, and yet others were pretty mucky and at one point, we decided the mud was too deep.
