Glad to glad to post this thread on a sunny day
A ride around Cougar Mt.
May Valley has yet to fully dry out
Used to be a nice hillside, now 25 homes
Past the YMCA. Only about 7 years old
Cougars on Cougar Mt
Traffic, no thanks. just crossing....
Prefer the quiet roads and fields
Used that 30tooth ring on the climbs today. Still early season. Knickers, not tights today.
Pasty, and shaved.

I thought the “Y” is where you’d spot the local cougars.

Got out for a nice 35 miles today. Much colder and windier than it was during the work week of course.

Ride around UVA Grounds on my Alan Cross bike with the kiddo. He rode up the first step of one of the tougher climbs in town; handled it well. Later, took my new urban warrior on its first mission.

Did another road test of a donated late-1980s Nishiki Custom 12-sp, which I rehabbed to the point of being safely rideable, and which is currently listed for sale to benefit the non-profit. I used the ride as an excuse to go by the property of a Black man, Joshua Saddler, who escaped slavery by coming North. He went to work for a Quaker mill owner in Haddonfield NJ, Cy Evans, who intercepted a slave hunter and negotiated Saddler's freedom. Saddler eventually set up his own farm nearby and then a settlement, known as Saddlertown. His will specified that the old trees on the property must not be cut down by his heirs. Today, Saddler's Woods is a small protected area with old-growth timber in a built-up suburban area in Haddon Township, Camden County NJ, not far from Philadelphia.
I also stopped by my favorite fresh pasta purveyor for my weekly pound of linguine.

40 miles on the Bob Jackson up to Portola Valley. Planning on some hills tomorrow and I wanted to make sure the bike was ready.

Too nice not to ride. 3rd consecutive day this early meant around the neighborhood - but some spots had steeps I had forgotten. Anyway glad to see people ice hockeying, Doofering , and other stuff.
Youth hockey league starting
A Local hang - inside service again
For the Pacific Moist NorthWest this is an invasive species?
I know Ergo isn’t vintage, but well worn 20+ yo carbon should be! And I need the compact rings for steep hills around here.

Took the Basso out today on a 24 mile ride up to Santa Fe Dam. Cold and windy but just enough sun to get me out on a ride.
A challenging climb before turning around
Free zoo along the bike trail.

Got three rides in this beautiful week. First time on a bike in almost 8 months following shoulder surgery. This is where hopefully I'll be able to launch my sliding seat Whitehall later this spring. Rowing will be a bigger challenge than cycling.

Winter comes back tomorrow, so glad to get another warm weather ride in today. Gale force winds kicked funneled through Rockfish Gap right as I finished, so congratulated myself on my timing. Stopped by the Cookie Lady’s house. She lived at the top of the Afton Mountain climb and would have water and cookies out for passers by, mostly cyclists. She was a local legend.

I’ve been ridding by this patch of snow on SW Fairmont in Portland for weeks now. It won’t melt! Snowed a month ago.
Not sure why this loaded sideways, but it’s kinda cool.

First real climbing ride on the 1971 Bob Jackson. 5285 feet of climbing on a 100KM ride. For those of you that know the South SF Bay Area. Climbed Page Mill, descended West Alpine. Came back up 84 and don Old La Honda. Just need to start adding in some fire roads to get the training going for Eroica.

Kona in the hills.
Went out with some friends for a trip around the hill today. Amazing ride until the trip to hospital. I fractured my clavicle.

A nice day (for mid march) and my first trip on the Schuylkill River Trail since around New Years. Almost all dry pavement and no ice left. A very good ride. Happy to ride today as they predict 1" of rain tomorrow.
This shot is on the final mile of the Perkiomen Trail before it connects to the SRT. It'll start to green out pretty soon.
Now, I'm somewhat older than Drillium Dude and grumpy and bad knees so, unlike Jeff, I had to use a crutch. Otherwise "monkey see, monkey do"
