Got a Garmin Edge 305 today for $75, brand new. It was on clearance at Best Buy and I was like "OMGWTFBBQ?" and bought it. It's my birthday today so I figured why the heck not. Doesn't have a speed/cadence sensor, but did come with the Heart Rate strap.
CANNOT complain, it was just a stupid good deal.

I've had kind of a dry spell with finding nice vintage bikes for a while.... there's just not that many good quality 48cm frames around, it seems! A fair amount of cheap, heavy ones though. But I did pick up what looked like a brand-new Specialized road saddle for $9 at the thrift store yesterday, one that we sell for $80 at the shop.

oh man there is a 48 cm land shark at a used bike shop I go to for like 35 bucks. I keep almost buying it just to resale it. lol

cool score on the continental! Looks like the twin of my '60 I picked up a few weeks ago. I'd love to see some photos of how the cable is run under the top tube...yours looks the cable is open along the tube maybe? Mine is solid for the length of the tube. I'd also be curious what rear derailleur yours has on it (though I've answered the question for my own Conti). Looks like aluminum rims, yes?

picked up a 1986 specilized stumpjumper sport today, All the original xt parts, and it is a double butted cromo lugged frame. It is in need of a complete tare down and rebuild.
Also I picked up a Miyata, this thing is weird. First thing is it has a lugged double butted Hi tensile frame(anybody heard of such a thing?). It has suntour bar end shifters, suntour arx front derailleur, sr pedals, camply head set, and i think bottom braket, also campy cable guilds, silstar cranks(never heard of them but they are nice looking). I think this frame has a total chrome plating under the paint. It has what looks like stamped rear dropouts with no derailleur hanger.
Both of them I got for 20$ total. The guy said he had the miyata set up as a three speed, and that he built it up him self at a shop he worked at once, from a new frame. Which would explain the parts group. lol

pics are on the way but it is too dark to get decent ones. I can't figure out if I am going to do with the stump jumper. I am torn between makeing it a polo bike or makeing it new again. lol The other one I am taking all the parts and trading the frame too the used bike shop for a tire or something. But that double butted hi ten frame just though me.

After repainting, cleaning, and assembling, this old Lygie is back on the road and ready for another 36 years of riding...

BTW, anyone know where I can find the original (or repro) headbadge and downtube decals for this '74-'75 Lygies? I was able to save most of the original headtube sticker, but there's no way it's gonna go back on this bike...any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, I'm really please with the way it turned out, (except for a few minor imperfections). I tried to keep as much original as I could, but vintage Italian parts are hard to find in Japan unless you're ready to pay with a first born...

Funny, even though it's an Italian frame, Japanese BB & derailler, French shifter, and American wheels/tires, I've suddenly become known as, "...that guy who rides the Guinness bike to work..."

I'm going to be very picky here, but the ONLY thing I don't like is the bar tape. It just looks strange being taken all the way to the stem. I'm used to seeing an inch or two of silver from the bars.
