My first DEATH FORK dund dun dunnn... Picked up this rough Reg Harris last night, nice lugs, strong lite cranks and Shimano Crane rear derailleur. It has Lambert branded shifters, fd, brake calipers. It is my size too, now what to do with it? igh rear hub conversion maybe? Just fix it and put appropriate bars and seat? Decisions. Price was right at least.

Picked up this Fuji Del Ray today for $50 off Philly CL. One owner who got it in highschool. It should clean up nice. Anybody know the year?( EDIT 1984) Check out those black annodized Ukai rims!

I also picked up this SOMA Double Cross frame w/ Surly crosscheck fork & Chris King headset for $120. It might not be C&V but it is all steel!

I am on a roll this week, I flipped a trek comfort bike in one day, paid 10.00 washed, replaced broken seat and sold for 150.00. found both the SR and the Reg Harris for the right price and even picked up a Haro bmx cruiser and 50 or so campy, clemente and reynolds t shirt transfers!

Today's catch: 2000 Trek 520. Not vintage, but a nice addition to the keeper fleet. Now I have to decide what goes out.

Snagged a 1968 Schwinn Runabout from an out of state CL. Needs some TLC, but not in bad shape. It is bizarre how they had the rear Gripper Slik tire on the front and the Spitfire tire on the back. Also it is strange how the ape hangers and handlebar stem are back asswards.

I went to pay a bill yesterday and stopped at a nearby Goodwill while in the neighborhood. As I was walking in the store I saw a road bike in the window so I made a quick turn after entering to see what it was. It was a Big Red Bike according to the price tag but after getting it home I measured it at 52cm c-2-c. It has Columbus Tenax tubing and Suntour Cyclone derailleurs. I think it is a 1985 model.
Compared to the many kids bikes next to it in the store it did look big.

Raleigh Sprite 5 Speed - Advice needed
Here are a few photos of my latest find, a Raleigh Sprite 5 speed. (I was on vacation and saw it in a thrift store for $15--I know little about English bikes, but I couldn't resist.) I'm guessing that it's 60's vintage, and I love it that everything's still there, down to the solid rubber block pedals and the Dunlop Sprite tires, made in England, still ready to ride.
But I need some sage C&V advice: Is this a bike with value that I should flip, or are these Sprites as common as dirt? ( I don't live in a big city or college town.) If I don't flip it, I need to decide what to do with it. The previous owner was riding it as a single speed, and the internal skewers for each side of the 5 speed hub are missing. Are those easy to find? Do I need to learn to rebuild a Sturmy Archer hub? I love a repair project, but there's always a limit.
Thanks in advance for all the advice.

You can say that again. When they're not jammed up with age and dirt/corrosion, they're one nice system. The FD trim feature actually doesn't work half bad, and they're stylish too. The Nishiki International I sold had those and Cyclone as well. How I wish the frame had been larger.,,,,BD

I picked up 12 bikes and a lawn mower for $50 yesterday from a local junk dealer and it included a new aluminum 26" QR rear wheel w/stainless spokes. Nothing great but there was a good parts machine a Schwinn Traveler w/105 RD,FD and shifters. Shouldn't be hard to recoup my money and still get a few good parts.
Glenn
This is cool, has a tank w/lights that work second one this year even the same color.
This Chopper is the second one I found this year also this one has a lot of rust though.

One of the other bikes that I got that had some good parts is this Western Germany made Mentor 3 speed,it has a Sachs 3 speed hub and shifter and the wheels look like they will clean up nice. It also has a nice set of Altenburger brakes on it.
A Raleigh Gran Prix that has good chrome and should clean up nice.
A nice clean vintage Roadmaster 3 speed easy flip.
A USA made huffy 10 speed MTB w/new tires and tubes already installed looks like it was never used.
A cruiser that has like new aluminum wheels w/stainless spokes and a coaster brake,I have a few good name brand cruisers that need wheels so this will be used for parts.
beater bike at best.
Another low end Schwinn.
