Only the real owner would know where it was left/found. This is the only place pictures were posted and I really doubt someone would try to scam from here, but you never know. Plus as I said, only the actual owner would know the exact location where it would have been found.

My last one was "Trek bike found. Call to identify."
I pretty much doubt the owner of that cruiser would be on here also so I'd probably post a CL ad that went something like this:
"Girls bike found. Call to identify" I wouldn't be too picky. If they got the color right and said something about the basket I'd probably let it go. Those bars and kickstand are pretty unique so I might probe for descriptions of those parts also.
Also unlikely that a BF regular would go out of their way to claim that bike but just to make sure I'd pull the pictures for now.

I can't really get into details but there is only one way this would have gotten in the location, and not from upstream.

Even when I dig bikes out of the trash I put up a vague CL ad and run it for a month.

I've been wondering if I did the right thing over the last couple of days; my town's wiki suggests running registrations with the police. However, I do live in a town with so many bikes it was a Jeopardy question but with bike theft so prevalent here I don't want to waste the police's time. Instead I left two craigslist ads and one post on the Stolen/Found section on the wiki, plus I'm thinking about making a sign for the lamp post near where I found it. This of course, assuming that nobody has taken it out of my 2nd floor patio!
Thoughts? I'm probably going to way too much trouble for a bike that's got a shot drivetrain, a bit of rust, 20-yr-old tires, and needs a complete overhaul/ss conversion. haha
Also, has anyone come back for their bike?

Thanks for the pic. That is a sweety. I've got a dahon single spd. folder I've dragged all over the world. I love that bike and still carry it in the trunk of my MB while I'm on the rode.I've had many a Lakeside or riverside evening rides that otherwise would have been missed without my folder.

Found on CL: vintage motobecane touring.......needs lubrication, new tires/tubes, damaged crankset.....$40
Seller is holding this for me until I can go pick it up. Trying to figure out how much I'd be spending to replace the crankset? New tires and tubes are no biggie, but not sure how to lube up the cables. I'm a newbie, and maybe it's a mistake to post on here but I gotta learn how to do this stuff from somewhere. Seller says crankset is froze. Help?

I would suggest pulling the link to the ad down(off of your post)
Also, you should go pick it up NOW, and ask the seller to pull the ad down.

Grabbed this off CL yesterday. As a farm boy who only drove green tractors, this one will be a fun winter restore effort and to keep around for fun. Nothing special as a bike, but I think it's pretty cool.

Old Bridgestone pulled from a dumpster
Walking home Friday night I saw that someone had tossed a bike on top of the dumpster outside my apartment. It's labeled as a Bridgestone "Shine Star." The frame looked straight and relatively clean so I brought it inside. I can't find any information about the model, except that it looks a lot like the C.Itoh ST-10 (which makes sense, as C.Itoh made bikes for Bridgestone in the '70s). The downtube decal says "Tested Finest Bicycle Precision Mechanism." Ha!
Components:
-Dia-Compe brakes and levers, with an interesting caliper mechanism I haven't seen before. Calipers are stamped "812"
-Suntour Spirt front derailleur
-Suntour Honor rear derailleur
-Suntour downtube-mounted shifters
-Bridgestone Oval crank set
-SR stem
I'm thinking of turning into a single-speed commuter, but I'd like to know a little more about it first. If you have any clues, please reply!

As I was on my way to the Bicycles for Humanity storage facility to ship 100 vintage bicycles to a fellow in Toronto...
I scored this Specialized Crossroads at the Dump...
The only thing wrong with the bike is a slow leak in the front tire. I pumped both tires up, checked to ensure all was tight and took the bike for a short spin before getting down to shipping.
Nice bike and it just might be my new winter beater.

With the help of my brother (Nikkorod) picked up this mostly complete 1975 Motobecane Champion Team. Seller threw in some tools and the original Silaca Pump. 61cm, my size. Just got to put it back together and clean it up.

Ive got a few bikes and things from the Junk yard in Arbroath, on the east coast of Scotland. I got a bike trailer for £5 last week.
I had seen a Bart Simpson Chopper then. But left it. Went back for it this week. It wasnt where I left it. There was a new pile of scrap metal beside there. I thought the bike was under it. So stumbled past it. I saw a pair of Carbon fibre forks sticking out of the pile. Its a Specialized Sirrus hybrid bike. seems all there, minus rear wheel and tyres. Ive tried to google it. Its silver alloy frame with carbon forks and seat stays. Shimano Sora rear mech. Silver V brakes. Seen the current model with carbon bits is £949.
Anyway. Thats not vintage. I was moving bed frames and a baby cart, trying to get the hybrid. When I noticed the dark green of an old bike. Hey. Thats a Raleigh Stowaway. Ive been wanting one of them for TEN years. Ive had a few solid frame Twentys. I got the bike out. I put the Hybrid and the Bart bike under a tree. Get them another day.
I took the Raleigh to the weigh scales. 17.5KG. £6. I had tools in my rucksack. so pumped the tyres and tightened things. Was riding about town on it.
Plans are to modify it. Its fairly rusty, looks like its been sitting in a garage for years. Hub date is 4 76
Oh yeah. The Hybrid will weigh much less than that. so might be £1 or so.
