WV is not flat..
I appreciate the comments and great finding fellow enthusiasts who really appreciate such a find. My "non cycling" family and friends think I'm halfway insane for hauling such stuff home... but it's who I am and what I do.
I got lucky last year and picked up a 1989 Bianchi Premio for $30 in similar shape needing a good tune and cleanup. I've always dreamed of finding a Cannondale aluminum road bike cheap. I never dreamed of finding one outfitted so well for next to nothing.
All of the cables are going under new bar wrap at first opportunity. I was thinking about keeping the first generation Look pedals on the bike. Bad idea?
Anyone know what something like this might be worth with the Ultegra upgrades? I hate to sell it... but it is a tad big for me (60cm I believe) and would be hard to justify keeping if it really has some serious value.

I was pleased to pick up these two this past week, both locally but separately, for quite cheap.
The 1993 Miayta 512 appears to be all stock - a mix of Shimano Exage (300 FD, 500 RD) and Sugino cranks, which seem to be somewhat of an insult (at least in terms of weight) to the splined, triple-butted frame. I'm wondering how much lighter this thing can be with even a slight upgrade in components, considering that it's heavier than expected for what i figure should be a 'relatively light' frame. Could be a fun city commuter with some fenders ...
I'm guessing the Diamondback Expert TG is about the same year as the Miyata (early 90's?) based on the paint and the full RX100 group. It's Tange OS, with a Tioga Prestige stem. Anyone know exactly which Tange tubing this would be? ... I scanned the interweb and some earlier threads here on BF but couldn't seem to find much conclusive. I'm sure the paint on this is polarizing for most, but I'm definitely a fan. Unfortunately the rear rim appears to be bent beyond repair ... which brings up the question of whether that simply invites a new wheel / wheelset, or a leap towards upgrading to another speed or two with bar ends or some brifters (I'm not the biggest fan of DT shifters) ...
The good news is that they both appear to be in great cosmetic and mechanical shape (even though I haven't even had a chance to really get them on the road yet). The bad news is that they're both my size, and the stable is already way too big ...
Btw, can anyone tell me how to get pics taken vertically to not show up horizontally when posting them? Apologies for that ...

Good used wheels are plentiful, and 7 speed will cost you less (everyone wants 8/9/10 speed).
On the STI front, Shimano reintroduced the 7 speed shifter, the set will cost you less than $100 on Amazon, those are a great deal.
Want to spend more $$$? Then go with 8 speed, I prefer either 7400 Dura Ace or 6400 tricolor 600. Will cost you about 4X to make that move.

A few crappy pics of my the Nobilette I picked up today (batteries died in camera) after some quality time with my frame table and a frame block. the frame was tweaked pretty good, i was sure I would have to replace the bottom tube. But.. nope nice and straight with no ripples! Yayy!

I can't match that Cannondale Black Lightning steal-of-a-deal, but I thought I did OK.
Picked up a 2000 Trek 5200 OCLV US Postal 56cm frame for $60. Frame only, no matching fork. Finish is satisfactory, with wear and rub marks in the paint that will need attention.
Has a Dura Ace Octalink BB, Dura Ace DT cable stops, and a Cane Creek C2 aheadset. It needs a 1" fork though. If I don't get back my NOS Kestrel EMS fork (long sad story, those who are informed already know) , I'll need to find a decent old one...and a 1" C2 fork race.
Yes, I am venturing into the realm of Carbon Fiber.

And I ended up buying from the seller, a Reynolds Ouzo Comp fork that was mounted on the frame. I now have the crown race and a complete frameset. Too bad it's still not the stock fork, but I'm all set.

this 69 ray was in a bacement we changed a furnace in . the seat is wrong but the rest of the bike is original. slowly we'll get it sorted .

I thought I posted in this thread already, but don't see the little green arrow, so I guess I didn't.
A few years ago a local shop had this bike sitting outside along with a few real junkers. Not sure it was headed for the dump, but the weather wasn't going to help it. The guy let it go for $20 ! Couldn't find much about the Weros brand. I will probably strip it and try to find homes for the frame & parts. I have too much already.

I saw a similar Swiss reference, and I think I recall their was a Weros team. Maybe it was a short lived team with rebranded sponsor bikes or something. Seems like a nice 531 frame though.

My catch of the day. I saw this pop up on CL, and grabbed it right away. All it needs is cleaning and air in the tires. Cost less than a case of my favorite micro-brew. More pix to come.
