How would you Build this???
It came with mixture of parts. I have a full Dura ace group from around 1976/77 that I think would look and function great. Did any of these bikes ever come with Dura ace or was it only campy? It came with a Shimano BB and dura ace shifters. I also have a Nuovo Record group in case I change my mind on the dura ace. So...how would you build it?? Here is a pic: I also started a thread on it a few weeks back: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/488147-raleigh-team-pro-catalog-1979-78-a.html

I can't be much help in your decision. they came as a frameset, and the racer boy community member that originally bought it would have had his own personal opinions about the best parts. My choice? If I were gonna ride it regularly, I'd dura ace that sucka. If I was gonna show off for the peleton, it'd be full super record. Troll the Road Forum, start a "which is better" thread and you'll see as much smoke there as you see here when you cut the shifter bosses off of a Cali Masi.
Remember, DA made all of the bits that you need...cable guides, headset, even a handlebar if you can find it. So, to do it right (and make the project last all winter) set yourself a goal to make it all DA if that is the route you decide to go.

Unique Vintage Steel
Since luker says they came as a frame set, I'm going to say Dura-Ace. How many 70's DA kitted out bikes do you see vs Campagnolo? Since you've already got some DA parts on it, that's my vote. Be unique!

Set it up as a 2x9 speed with brifters. Then send it to me to give to my son.
Seriously though - since you ave original paint, just build it with whatever parts from the era that strike your fancy. That's how club racers approached it.
