Bikes: SOMA Rush, Miyata 912, Kogswell Mod. G, want a porteur bike

I hate it when people size a bike as "small," "med," or "large" etc.
This is next to useless given the range of variation even within
what most people might consider a medium size frame--
some frames have longer top tubes as we all know, relative to
the seat tube, etc. So what exactly does "medium" or "small" tell
me except that it tends to fit people of a general size but can't be certain
to fit any of them exactly?
