JOCO dutch frame -pickies for Marty

Kia Ora from Aotearoa (that's G'day from New Zealand in Maori!)
I posted a pickie of this old JOCO frame on another thread, and Lotek (aka Marty) asked from some more.
Your wish is my command.

I found it at the dump pretty much as is. From memory it was wearing a Campag Nuovo Record FD , RD and chainset, and not a lot else. The badge was what caught my eye. Nice frilly lugs too. Clearly it's been repainted at some time, with no trace of old transfers or anything else.

The five speed shifter braze-on and simplex lugs are probably the clue to its age. My guess is sometime in the 60s. I tried to gauage the seat tube diameter. It fits a 26.8mm for around 50mm, then everything gets tight. Probably just been over tightened at some stage.

Earlier this year the JOCO was almost repatriated back to Europe. I set it up as a five speed to take on a five day ride along some French canals, but changed my mind at the last minute and took a trusty Raleigh Royal instead. I was concerned about not having the gears for a nasty little hill in the middle of the itinerary. Needn't have worried actually.

Now it hangs in the garage. I don't have any plans to build it in the near future - too many working bikes as it is!

Enough of the stories - here's the frame in question.

Merry Christmas - Jeff

Gold Coast eh? Should've guessed you were a kiwi!
Yeah, I'll build it one day. Meantime, I'll just keep thrashing the old blue Pinarello around the streets of Hamilton.
Merry Christmas!

Jeff

No worries Marty. If I ever run out of garage space, the JOCO's got your name on it.

hei toki is a carved adz, usually beef bone but can be greenstone, Maori jewelry.
