An odd style stem

Does anyone know what particular Schwinn bike this 21mm stem may be found on? This is the first time I've seen this one.

Continental, and I believe the Super Sport as well.

I'll second Kurt's assessment! They were generally used on the larger frames. I have one in the basement.

You wouldn't happen to have one of these in your basement would you Pastor Bob?

I've actually never seen that variation with the recessed allen bolt used to secure the stem wedge. Here's a closeup of the one on Sporty (I painted the "S").

I think this may be the bike you're looking for. That Pastor Bob knows how to restore a bicycle. I'll let him tell you his secret.

Bob, that variation is on my '76 Superior and '76 SLT 12.2. Hope you don't mine my showing your picture.

that is beautiful. Not a restoration, there has never been another Super Sport like this one. Beyond sublime. I'm duly inspired.
