Biding starts at 21,999.00

Or maybe it'd be a great anniversary gift for the right woman who is or married rich or for the man who cause a WHOLE LOTTA hurt.

At least the saddle is a Brooks.

Ew... That is hideous. Those bags just don;t look like they belong on a bike. They just look like a bunch of purses strapped onto the bike. And check out that saddle. Did they cover the Brooks leather with their own leather???

Bikes: Colnagos (2005 Brera Art, 2007 President LdV, 2007 CF6)

You'd think for that kind of money they could at least have hidden the welds.

Let's see.... Shimano Acera/Nexus brake levers - $8.59/pair wholesale.
Cheap crank - $21.99 wholesale
Cheap suspension seatpost - $13.99 wholesale
Nexus hubs (gen front) - $150 (est) wholesale
Pedals - benefit of the doubt....MKS - $14.99 wholesale
Cheap aluminum frame - $109.99 on eBay
Rear wheel lock - $49.99 (guessing badly)
Nexus brakes - $no idea. $40 each maybe?

Okay.... I quit. No. No way in hell would I pay more than $200 for that bike.

But... you'd have to pay a little extra to get some pump pegs added! And perhaps those euro rear wheel locks need some kinda frame braze-ons, not sure, though.

I think the quilted lamb's leather covered pump is worth at least a third of the BIN.

Hehehe.

Just because there aren't many of something doesn't mean it is a desired collectible.

That seat looks like it was hand crafted by the Marx Brothers, not Brooks.

Nope, it's filled with drugs. Cause you've got to be on them to bid that much for this bike. Hey, I've got an idea. I've got a couple of old Sears bikes that look similiar to that Chanel bike. If I rebadge them as "Channel" (spelled differently) maybe I can get half that amount for two bikes? Okay, how about a third?

well, it says it was made by "the Brooks Brothers".

I'm not sure if that means brooks the englsh saddle company, the brooks brothers company that makes suits, or mel brooks and his brother. I'm thinking that later.

Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG

Looks a lot like my Redline R530 (if I painted it matte black)...and even with all the upgrades I still have less than .25% of that price in mine. Helluva mark up if you ask me, and people complain about the LBS pricing

Did a little digging - when that bike was released by Chanel it listed for *only* £6,200 so the mark up from 2007 to now is itself incredible.....and I can't imagine many got sold.

On the other hand, according to "the Purse Blog" (I kid you not - I'd never have known without Google) these bikes were considered pretty hot...."This Limited Edition Chanel Bike is the ultimate in two-wheeled novelty. With only 50 made and less than 20 available in the US, this creation retailed for $17,000, with reseller markups hitting $28,000 already." At least even the purse people thought it a bit over the top: "My opinion? No, thank you. Ridiculously overpriced novelty item, reserved for a few selected collectors who do not know what to do with their disposable income."

Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public. But it will be some kind of idiot to buy that bike. I wonder what the seller paid for it.

Now I like this one, still the price is a tad steep but I like the looks of the bike, it would never work for me around here there are too many hills that require some sort of gears to help get up.
