I was hoping I'd get famous at it and Sandra Bullock would leave Jesse and come to get one of RobbieTunes' bikes and then we'd look into each other's eyes, and..........
.........then I get my hand caught in the chain again.

My take on it is to make a decision before you do anything to the bike whether you're going to keep it or flip it. Sometimes it takes a little time to decide, but the route I take is different fixing a bike for myself vs. fixing it to sell. I've got no regrets at all, except I kind of wish I kept a Schwinn World to use as a winter beater bike, but a beater bike in my size should be very easy for me to find next summer if I have the mind to do so.

When I sell a bike, I want it to be in decent riding shape. I replaced the stem on a Nishiki hybrid due it being cracked 3/4 of the way across. It would have broke eventually. It's hard to stop when you start fixing something, but if profit's your motive, you must.

I regret causing my wife to sell her Schwinn Suburban that she bought as a child. I had complained that her extra bike was taking up too much space. So she sold it for $50 to a workman, who claimed to be a "collector", and who promptly stripped it and flipped it. Now I have a garageful of bikes and have yet to attempt to sell one. Most of the bikes I have acquired are not my size, so I'll have no regrets selling them. My first goal is to use the bike flipping proceeds to acquire an identical Suburban to replace my wife's former bike, and my second goal is to find myself a Paramount or Superior.
