Marinoni Paint Jobs
I'm thinking of restoring my late 80s Marinoni Special. It's an SLX frame with the internal cable routing.
The problem is that sometime in the 90s I had one of those multi-coloured paint jobs done to it (ya I know, but it seemed like a good idea at the time
) and I would really like to restore it to as close as possible to its original paint job which was a work of art. Problem is I don't have any pics of it.
So I'm hoping someone here might have some pics of Marinoni's from the same era with a similar paint job.
It was a two tone paint job with the "net effect" which was spec'd by Marinoni. If I recall correctly the bike was painted a kind of gold copper and the top, seat and down tubes were painted white using this effect. The rear triangle and forks are primarily chromed.
Does anyone have any pics of a Marinoni with this style of paint job?
Thanks.

here is my 1987 Marinoni Special. It doesn't look like the paint you describe but it might be similar. Antipodes also has a 'Special' from the eighties, at least i think he still has it. You could also check with the Marinoni factory they are very helpful. They also do repaints. Give them your SN and you might even be able to a copy of the work order for your bike. I have one of this bike:

No Terry, I no longer have the Marinoni. You will be pleased to know that it is still in safe hands at the house that I once lived at; Jordan is now the owner.
Here's a pic of it:

I have no idea why the resolution is all screwy; it doesn't look like that on the actual site where it's hosted.

Thanks for replies. gr23932's Colonago is almost it. I did actually manage to find one with much trawling in google on a bike which interestingly has fastback seat stays which I have never seen on a Marinoni before. It's neat to see Marinoni's spread so far and wide across the world.

Look at it this way, those bright glowing colors of the 80's may be one reason we are all still alive today. At least thats what i tell myself when i look back at old photos. Neon yellow-green & hot pink were very popular for some reason?

Marinoni
A cute story about my yellow special. The friend i bought it from had emailed Marinoni querying about a repaint. He stated how much he loved his Marinoni. He received an email back with the details of the repaint and a comment that said " I love my marinoni too, i even go to bed with mine". It was signed Simone Marinoni, (his wife)

That is the first marinoni I've ever seen with the paint job. Are you sure that one has "fast back stays"? In 1991 (I think) Marinoni transitioned from capping the seatstays to mitering them to butt up against the seat lug.
I'd like to see more of that blue Marinoni.
my 1992... not fastback but as I attempted to describe above.., not the best photo of it but all I got ATM.
