Dang I hope somebody picked it up that will treat it good.
Anyone know where I can get some fenders for this sweet Schwinn? I plan on doing some commuting on it, and I figure the fenders would be beneficial.

On chrome, I use bronze wool. On non-anodized alloy pieces, bronze wool and Blue Magic. Here's the full bike.

Thanks. It is going to take some getting used to. We moved here from North Carolina, and I am originally from Arkansas. The wind is killer, and annoying. Will I ever get used to it? We just got back from the Kansas Cosmosphere, and that was super cool.

Haha, the wind. I am from Wichita and no you never will get used to the wind because just before you get used to it it will stop completely and stay nice until you almost forget about it. Then it will blow like hell again, its a never ending cycle. The SR71 at the Cosmosphrere is really neat.

Yeah it is pretty badass. My wife, a friend, and I were debating on whether it was real. My wife picked up a map and in there it said it was. I was hoping the X1 was real, but they must have the real one at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

Welcome to C&V ( you new support group for an addiction-not that any of us want to kick the habbit)
I lived in Wichita over a decade ago. I did not see a whole lot of other riders then. I have found that the suburbs of Kansas City, are gold mine for vintage bikes compaired to Wichita. The crazy thing is when the gas prices went up so did the price of the vintage bikes, but the bikes have continued to stay high.

Well, I want to dedicate this post to John, a.k.a. bigbossman. He sent me some NOS vinyl bar tape. He made me promise to post up some pictures after I wrapped the bars. Here they are. These shots are also after cleaning her up a bit. I haven't waxed her yet, but will soon.

Let me know what you guys think.
Oh yeah, I also started a thread about finding a pump. Where should I mount it on this bike?
Thanks, and thanks again bigbossman.

Ya wanna know what I think??!!
I think that red bar tape is friggen gorgeous on that bike.

Props to 'big bossman' for a keen eye and his generosity. Props to you for giving it the love that bike deserves, instead of it being lost to some goof ball who would beat it to death then throw it into a dumpster somewhere to die quietly like it had never even existed.
(sniff)

Now see what you made me do.

Thanks for the comments. One thing that threw me off for a few minutes while wrapping the bars, the color from the tape rubbed off onto my hands. I went ahead and wrapped them, figuring that was normal. Has anyone ever experienced that? Is it from the age, maybe? Or is that normal?

Ok, sorry to "bump" my own thread, but I thought of another question. I was thinking about the tape bleeding onto my hands while wrapping the bars. Is there some way to treat the tape to prevent that from happening when I am riding and protect the tape?

Ok, so, I ordered a Sunlite chrome frame pump last week. It got here today, and came with some cheap plastic straps to mount it onto the bike. The problem is, these straps broke, they were super brittle. What are some other methods to mount a frame pump? Has this happened to anyone else in the past?

Ok, here are some shots of the pump. I decided to throw in the tape measure for good, um, . . . . measure.

What do you think of the bar tape?

And, I can help you out with some clamp-on pump pegs. I still have your address.

Squeaver, that is a lusty bike! That bar wrap makes it pop. And BBM does help out greatly with his parts, he got me a great deal on a Super Maxy crank for my Fuji S10-S.
