Bikes: 1974 Atala Grand Prix

I have a 1974 Atala Grand Prix. I would send a photo, but it is in the shop for a tune up and will be back next week. It is all original except the seat and tires. Mostly Campagnoli gears and derailleurs with Weinman Brakes. Shift was on the lower tube just above the blue Atala sticker. The bike pictured is the same color and stickers, but looks completely stripped. Looks like a single gear coaster.

It is a nice ride -- more laid-back than my other bikes.
Aha, another Atala Gran Prix owner! There can't be too many of us, huh? It's really interesting, to see that your fork was replaced, as mine had a (literally) broken fork, when I got it. For future readers, I have a thread with pics, called The broken Atala thread. Maybe there was a known problem, with that run of forks? But it's reassuring, to see that you like the ride, otherwise. I like "laid-back" bikes.

I bought this 1973 Atala Grand Prix (well, I was told it's a 1973). I need to know what the seat post size would be. Sheldon Brown shows it is 26.8 mm but I bought that size and it's too big. I decided to have it sandblasted and powder coated. I have replacement decals on order and I'm mixing newer components with some of the original components. I'm only about half finsihed at this point.

IIRC, my Gran Prix (since sold) used a 26.4mm post.

The Atala is coming along. The before and after pics. I had the frame sandblasted, powder coated and new decals from VeloCals.com.
