Canadians in C&V?
and I don't mean cyclops' and marinoni's...
I noticed a trend on the toronto craigslist lately, a few 80's bianchis are on the auction block with spring around the corner... has any else noticed the pricing tho? $375 for a brava albeit in very nice condition..
am i missing something here?
either way, I'd like to lean more, and after reading this thread:
https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/515135-just-purchased-80s-bianchi-nuovo-alloro-frame-fork.html
i read there are quite a few canadians up here.

I saw those too. That's pretty common pricing in Toronto. It's doubtful people actually get that for a bike, since I've seen several Bianchis around $375 get relisted. People price CL bikes based on other unreasonable listing prices, not on final sales.
If you hound CL (i.e. several times a day), you'll eventually see good bikes at reasonable prices. But since everybody and their two-legged dog wants decent wheels here, the good ones get snapped up quick.

That Bianchi for $375 would be about $500 in a used bike store even though it is pretty low-end. The name Bianchi gets a lot of attention and someone new to cycling will only be looking at name-brand frames. So yeah, I would never pay $375 for that bike but I think someone will pay $350.
As an aside, I bought the exact same Bianchi (but in a 53 size) two years ago for $75 on the Toronto CL....I gave it to a friend and he loves it. He started commuting on it every day and even gave up his 20 year smoking habit in order to better enjoy riding his bike.
